I realized that every time I see an email from you folks, I get a positive reminder of how great you all are to work with. Two and a half years ago my wife and I bought our first home, unfortunately, we started off the whole process with a real-estate agent and lender that were downright awful, demeaning and not helpful. So after dropping them, we did our research and then being switched over to Benchmark Mortgage and got a new real-estate agent, which was a blessing in disguise. Benchmark walked us through everything, step by step and made sure we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into. They are so thorough and go through countless scenarios of payment schedules and layout information so that you feel comfortable with everything.

We recently decided to move to a new home. So now being first time sellers after being first-time buyer’s the last time, opened a whole new world for us. Without hesitation, we went back to Benchmark Mortgage and asked for their guidance. Again, two and a half years later, they remembered who we were and jumped at the opportunity to help once again. Dean was awesome and didn’t hesitate to help, night or day, and he answered the barrage of questions that my wife and I had with ease and made us feel comfortable with a very stressful situation. We scheduled an appointment with Dean to determine what our first step in prequalifying for a home loan should be. He patiently explained our credit, what the market was doing and where it was projected to go, the different types of loans, the way to look at interest rates and more. Dean educated and empowered us to feel confident in moving forward to begin our home search. When we found our dream home Dean and his team were there to orchestrate the process and ensure all was in place during the critical time of offering and signing. He was there at the end when we were given our keys. Benchmark Mortgage is an excellent organization with genuine people in the heart of their work.

Dean and Shanna closed our new home loan in less than 2 weeks after my previous bank couldn’t meet the timeline to close. Dean got us a lower interest rate, was knowledgeable in all types of home loans, and closed on time. However, most importantly, Dean and Shanna were with us at every step and were present at our closing. This turned out to be very important, as the seller attempted to change the terms of our purchase at the last minute, but Dean very professionally and sternly reminded them of what they had agreed to. After 30 minutes of Dean “schooling” the homebuilder’s representatives, they relented and agreed to the original terms of sale. As a mortgage broker, Dean did not have to go out on a limb for us like he did, but we sure are glad he did!

Lastly, Dean and Shanna’s professionalism, knowledge of their business, and honesty sets the standard of what lenders should strive to achieve. We went back to them for a refi, and they advised me of the best approach and ended up getting us .5% lower rate and no closing costs.

They will tell you if buying/refinancing is a good idea given your situation. They are not out to “make a buck.” They will tell you what is in your best interest, even if that means not financing/refinancing.
